about to & from with love

To & From With Love’s story started in 2007, when Lizzie and Sally met while studying at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). They began a friendship over their mutual love for design, animals, books, fun Asian snacks, and all things cute! After graduating, Sally moved back home to Indonesia, and Lizzie settled down in Asheville, NC. But even though they were more than 10,000 miles apart, the distance hardly kept the two from chatting about their dreams of opening a wedding stationary and paper goods store together. And one day, Lizzie stopped dreaming and asked Sally to join her design team. So To & From With Love was born. Thanks to Skype and tons of emails, the girls have built their dream of a design studio with a unique, across-the-globe perspective. Already, To & From has added even more international designers to the team. They can’t wait to see what other ideas from around the world that they can share.

about to & from team

Lizzie grew up in Jacksonville, FL, soaking up all the beautiful weather down there. She moved to New Orleans, LA to study fine arts at Loyola University, graduated, and somehow ended up working in the music business (doing marketing for WEA records & House of Blues NOLA). While working in music, she discovered her love for design, and after Hurricane Katrina she decided to pursue a master’s in graphic design at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). While there she met so many creative and inspiring designers, like Sally and Julia. After leaving Savannah, Lizzie continued working in the field, freelancing for Joy Cho from Oh Joy! Studio, New York League of Conservation Voters, Waste Not Want Not, and International Greetings. She loves interior design, her husband, her pets, and parties of all kinds. She is currently lives in the fabulous Asheville, NC and is obsessed with Pinterest, macaroons, and letterpress.

Sally grew up in Indonesia, in the bustling city of Jakarta. She studied graphic design in Trisakti (Jakarta/Indonesia) and SCAD (Savannah/USA). She met Lizzie while at SCAD and they became good friends. After graduating, she moved to Provo, Utah, working for DCWV (Die Cuts With a View ) as a scrapbook designer and loving her job to bits. But she missed her family and friends in Jakarta, and she eventually moved back home where she continues to work in the design field. She loves scrapbooking, party decor, cupcakes, and sweets.

Julia grew up in an incredibly small town in the very south of Germany. She studied Graphic Design in Konstanz/Germany and Savannah/USA (and that’s how she met Lizzie!). In 2010, she moved to beautiful Barcelona/Spain to get her Master’s degree in Advanced Typography (and to escape the German winter). After interning and working at design studios, potato farms and advertising agencies in Germany, Brazil and Iceland, she is now settling in Berlin focusing on print and paper goods. Julia enjoys handwritten postcards, is currently 27 years old and, as life would have it,
she is afraid of fish.

Grazina grew up in an old fisherman’s motel on the beach in Florida watching Lawrence Welk and playing cribbage with the snowbirds that would spend their winters there. She spent the summers of her youth in Vermont at Lithuanian summer camp (yes, it exists) and bouncing around New England. A graduate of SCAD in Savannah, GA, she’s woven her way up the east coast and is currently living in Brooklyn, NY and working as an Art Director in NYC. She loves all things relating to the digital space, design or otherwise, and the ways small discoveries can have a big impact on your life. Grazina also has quite the sweet spot for animals, beer, and cheese.
