Wow, this is a wedding I felt honored and proud to be apart of. It’s always so special when you can connect with someone not only on a friendship level but also on a creative level as well. And with Jessica, I got both! I had the pleasure of doing her Save the Dates, Invitations and all the paper goods she used throughout the wedding (including her adorable, doggie photo props/masks). I had a blast throughout this whole creative progress, and had even more fun at Jessica and Danny’s big day! Please enjoy this the lovely video from Jeff Brewer Films (keep an eye out for the paper goods made by the To & From team and lasercut by Figs & Ginger). And be sure to check out the wedding detail shots from the fabulous Red, White & Green Photography featured below! – Lizzie Britton
Recently I took a little weekend trip to the city of Hamburg. The city is absolutely beautiful with all the water surrounding it, the old city centre, the harbour, the beautiful old buildings and the unique fishermen’s bars and sea spirit to it. I also got a chance to visit the World Press Photo Exhibition 2013, which was both stunning and free! It was raining almost the entire time I was in Hamburg, but that kind of added to the overall rough sea city charme. Absolutely worth a visit! – Julia
Last weekend, the famous and great type conference »Typo Berlin« took place at Haus der Kulturen der Welt. I could not go myself unfortunatelly, however it is always so inspiring to just even see the list of speakers, look up their work and listen to some of the talks that are featured online.
I especially enjoyed discovering the UK-based designer Kate Moross. Her work ranges from music videos to posters to all kinds of visual art work, and is not reduced to one medium or style only. I find her approaches so fresh—wild but not in an out of control way—and just beautiful visual punk over all. The type blog Slanted Magazine has posted some impressions and pictures of her talk at Typo Berlin here. – Julia (Photo: K. Moross)
A girl can never have too many shoes, that idiom is so so true! Especially with these fabulous shoes from Ni Luh Djelantik. With its top-notch material, NLD has paved its way from Bali to Hollywood and attracted celebrities like Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts, Uma Thurman and Gisele Bundchen. I love the elegant yet posh style they offer in all of their shoes, but I am truly smitten with those gorgeous oxfords! More of Ni Luh Djelantik here.
